Dynagraphs are known as signature curves to understand downhole pump condition in Sucker rod pumping wells. Since majority of onshore wells are on SRP, Dynagraph acquisition and interpretation along with liquid level becomes important for every production optimization process.

This process includes observation of shape of dynamometer card along with interpretation and calculation of various parameters like stress on rod string, pump efficiency, polished rod horse power, counter balance load etc. Some of the common problems faced by SRP faces are rod stuck up, gas interference, rod parting etc. All these problems are reflected in signature card’s and any malfunction in downhole pump condition can be analysed and detected by change in shape of the card.
